I've personally seen Aerospeed rear paddles and Blacktail front tires in action and they worked AWESOME compared to the factory tires. www.amstires.com

I think it comes down to superior design and lightweight wheels. I have ITP Dune Stars on ITP wheels on my quad which i'm quite happy with as well. Both designs (Dune Stars & Aerospeed's) are similar.

aerospeed and blacktails......for paddles both tires and rims need to be as lite as possible and for paddles, no more than 7-9 paddles per tire, scoop facing forward.

I still have the 650 (no 1100) and run these paddles. After no luck getting it street registered in WA, it will go up for sale after Thanksgiving. We are getting together with some other buggies in Truckhaven, CA on Nov 20th and that may be the last of the SandSpider.
